Yoga for Seniors
Gentle chair and standing yoga for older adults, built around balance, joints and breath.
- Two classes
- every week
- 45 minutes
- live, each class
- First class
- free
What Yoga for Seniors is
Yoga for the sixties, seventies and beyond, taught by a teacher who knows which postures to leave out. Much of it can be done from a chair or with a wall for support. The aim is the ordinary business of later life done comfortably: standing up, turning around, sleeping through the night.
Mobility kept is far easier than mobility recovered.
What they will learn
- Chair-supported and wall-supported asanas that are safe for stiff or replaced joints
- Balance work, practised with support until it is steady without
- Gentle pranayama and mindful breathing suited to older lungs
- A short daily routine for the knees, hips, shoulders and lower back
What the benefits are
- Steadier balance, which is the thing that decides how a fall ends
- Joints kept moving through their range instead of quietly losing it
- A calmer evening and, for many, easier sleep
How the 45 minutes run
- Seated warm-up: ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, neck
- Standing or chair asanas, with the wall or the chair back always within reach
- Slow breathing practice, never held to strain
- A long, guided relaxation to finish
What they still have in twenty years
Balance, range of movement and independence held for longer: the things that decide how the next decade is actually lived.

Times are IST. Tell us your time zone and we will place you in the batch that lands at a sensible local hour.
Before you book. Yoga classes are a practice, not medical treatment. Tell us about any injury, surgery, pregnancy or condition before your first class, and speak to your doctor if you are under treatment. We do not diagnose, treat or cure anything, and a teacher will tell you plainly when a posture is not for you.

Live, always, in a small batch with the camera on. A recording cannot hear a mistake and correct it, and that correction is most of what you are paying for.
