Live online classes in Sydney
Indian culture classesfor families in Sydney.
Sanskrit, shlokas, chanting, the Ramayana and the Gita, storytelling, public speaking, Bharatanatyam and yoga, taught live from India, in small batches, at hours that work in Sydney.
Sydney is four and a half hours ahead of India through the Australian winter and five and a half once daylight saving starts in October, so the class is ahead of the teacher rather than behind them. The Indian morning batches land in a Sydney afternoon, and that is the whole appeal: nobody at either end is doing this at the edge of their day. The Indian evening batches fall after midnight here, so in practice Sydney runs entirely on the two morning slots.

Questions from families in Sydney
Does Sydney's daylight saving change the class time?
Yes. New South Wales moves forward on the first Sunday of October and back on the first Sunday of April, and India never moves, so the Sydney time on this page shifts by an hour twice a year while the Indian time stays exactly where it is.
Is Sydney the same as Brisbane and Perth?
Not through the summer. Queensland and Western Australia do not observe daylight saving at all, so Brisbane holds still while Sydney moves, and Perth is two hours behind Sydney for half the year and three for the other half. Use the Brisbane and Perth pages for those.
Does this fit around an Australian school day?
Every batch is a weekend batch, so it never touches a school day. The two Indian morning slots land in a Sydney weekend afternoon, which is the part of the weekend most families already have free.
What time are the classes in Sydney?
Our batches run Saturday morning IST (Sat 1:30pm in Sydney), Saturday evening IST (Sun 12:30am in Sydney), Sunday morning IST (Sun 2:30pm in Sydney), Sunday evening IST (Mon 1:30am in Sydney). If none of those suit, tell us the hours that do and we will build a batch around them. We schedule around the learner, not around Indian hours.
Do you have a centre in Sydney?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. Every class is taught live over video by teachers in India, and our office is in HSR Layout, Sector 2, Bengaluru. That is what lets a family in Sydney learn from a teacher who grew up inside this tradition rather than one who is the nearest available.
How do we pay from Australia?
Fees depend on the batch and how often it meets, and we take international payments. Message us on WhatsApp for the current fee list in your currency. The 30-minute trial class is free, with no payment details taken.
