Live online classes in Auckland
Indian culture classesfor families in Auckland.
Sanskrit, shlokas, chanting, the Ramayana and the Gita, storytelling, public speaking, Bharatanatyam and yoga, taught live from India, in small batches, at hours that work in Auckland.
Auckland is further ahead of India than anywhere else we teach: six and a half hours in the New Zealand winter and seven and a half once daylight saving starts on the last Sunday of September. The Indian morning batches therefore land in an Auckland weekend afternoon, 2:30 on Saturday and 3:30 on Sunday in winter, an hour later in summer, while the Indian evening batches fall in the small hours. Auckland runs on the two morning slots alone, with a teacher starting their day in Bengaluru as a child here finishes lunch.

Times are shown for a term-time weekend and follow Auckland's own daylight-saving calendar, so they may shift by an hour in summer. If none of these suit, tell us the hours that do: batches are built around the families who join them.

Questions from families in Auckland
When does the Auckland class time change?
New Zealand moves its clocks forward on the last Sunday of September and back on the first Sunday of April. India never moves, so the Indian time stays fixed and the Auckland time shifts by an hour: 2:30pm on a winter Saturday becomes 3:30pm through the summer.
Is Auckland on the same clock as Sydney?
Two hours ahead of it for almost the whole year, and three for one week each spring, because New Zealand moves its clocks on the last Sunday of September and New South Wales a week later. The two change back on the same day in April.
Is the time the same in Wellington and Christchurch?
Yes, mainland New Zealand is on one clock, so the table above holds anywhere from Auckland to Invercargill. The only exception is the Chatham Islands, which run 45 minutes ahead of the rest of the country.
What time are the classes in Auckland?
Our batches run Saturday morning IST (Sat 3:30pm in Auckland), Saturday evening IST (Sun 2:30am in Auckland), Sunday morning IST (Sun 4:30pm in Auckland), Sunday evening IST (Mon 3:30am in Auckland). If none of those suit, tell us the hours that do and we will build a batch around them. We schedule around the learner, not around Indian hours.
Do you have a centre in Auckland?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. Every class is taught live over video by teachers in India, and our office is in HSR Layout, Sector 2, Bengaluru. That is what lets a family in Auckland learn from a teacher who grew up inside this tradition rather than one who is the nearest available.
How do we pay from New Zealand?
Fees depend on the batch and how often it meets, and we take international payments. Message us on WhatsApp for the current fee list in your currency. The 30-minute trial class is free, with no payment details taken.
