Live online classes in Australia

Indian culture classesfor families in Australia.

Sanskrit, shlokas, chanting, the Ramayana and the Gita, storytelling, public speaking, Bharatanatyam and yoga, taught live from India, in small batches, at hours that work in Australia.

Australia is the one market that sits ahead of India rather than behind it, which makes it the easiest country on this timetable to schedule: a weekend class here falls in a teacher's mid-afternoon in Bengaluru, not at the end of a long day. The complication is domestic rather than international. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT observe daylight saving; Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not, so Brisbane and Perth hold still while Sydney and Melbourne move.

Times are shown for a term-time weekend and follow Australia's own daylight-saving calendar, so they may shift by an hour in summer. If none of these suit, tell us the hours that do: batches are built around the families who join them.

What families in Australia can learn

Every class below is open to every age, and every one is taught live in a small batch.

Samskara Seeding

through Culture & Scriptures

The texts, the stories and the customs, taught so a child grows up inside the tradition rather than visiting it once a year. This is the track most families begin with.

Confidence Building

Voice, argument and presence

Speaking, debating and standing in front of a room. The skills that decide whether what a child knows ever reaches anybody else.

Art & Craft

Dance, drawing and making, in the Indian tradition

Classical dance, drawing, painting and making, taught through the forms and festival crafts this culture produced, including live online Bharatanatyam for beginners. Batches are opening now; timings are arranged with the families who join.

Yoga & Wellness

For kids, adults and seniors, and for the back and neck that ache

Live online yoga in small batches, taught by qualified teachers in the tradition it comes from. Separate batches for children, adults and older learners, and focused batches for what people actually come to yoga with: back pain, a stiff neck and shoulders, weight, sleep and stress.

For Adults

Gita, sutras, chanting and song

Adult batches, taught at adult pace and without any assumption of prior knowledge. Most of these learners are beginners who never had the chance earlier, and evening batches are set with the group.

Questions from families in Australia

Which Australian states change their clocks?

New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT move forward on the first Sunday of October and back on the first Sunday of April. Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not move at all, and neither does India. So a Brisbane family's class time never changes and a Sydney family's shifts twice a year.

Is the time difference difficult to work around?

Less than anywhere else we teach. Australia is ahead of India, so a weekend class here is an early-to-mid afternoon one for the teacher. That means an alert teacher rather than a tired one, which matters more for pronunciation work than most parents expect it to.

Do classes run through the Australian summer holidays?

The timetable does not stop, but December and January are when Australian families travel most. Tell us before you go and we will work the missed weeks out with you.

What time are the classes in Australia?

Our batches run Saturday morning IST (Sat 1:30pm in Australia), Saturday evening IST (Sun 12:30am in Australia), Sunday morning IST (Sun 2:30pm in Australia), Sunday evening IST (Mon 1:30am in Australia). If none of those suit, tell us the hours that do and we will build a batch around them. We schedule around the learner, not around Indian hours.

Do you have a centre in Australia?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Every class is taught live over video by teachers in India, and our office is in HSR Layout, Sector 2, Bengaluru. That is what lets a family in Australia learn from a teacher who grew up inside this tradition rather than one who is the nearest available.

How do we pay from Australia?

Fees depend on the batch and how often it meets, and we take international payments. Message us on WhatsApp for the current fee list in your currency. The 30-minute trial class is free, with no payment details taken.
